The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine offers a friendly, informal atmosphere at three sites: in East Lansing on a Big 10 campus; at the Detroit Medical Center downtown, a major metropolitan area hospital complex; and at Macomb University Center in Clinton Township, a suburban campus located within a 20-mile radius of seven hospitals. Our Statewide Campus System includes 20 base hospitals located throughout the state of Michigan where students complete their clinical education. The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine is accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) and by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. CURRICULAR OFFERINGS Students may enroll in one of three different sites for their first two years. MSUCOM offers state-of-the-art video conferencing and distance learning capabilities at each site. • Classes begin in late June with an intensified gross anatomy class. Clinical rotations begin July 1 of the third year. • Pre-clerkship Program begins with basic sciences and clinical skills, moving on through the Systems Biology series. Preceptorship program during the second year provides early clinical exposure. Students are assigned to one of 20 affiliated base hospital training sites in Michigan for the Clinical Clerkship Program in years three and four.
